Xerostomia or more often referred to as, dry mouth, is due to an insufficient flow of saliva. Dry mouth is either a symptom of a medical disorder or it could be a side effect of various drugs. Dry mouth can also be a symptom of Sjogren’s syndrome. This is a chronic autoimmune disorder where your body’s immune system attacks its own moisture-producing glands.

- Difficulty swallowing
- Burning sensation
- Trouble speaking
