What You Can Do To Relax
There are several things you can do before you come to the dental office and after you have arrived.
Before you come:
Try to avoid drinks with caffeine and anything with sugar in it. Both of these can cause your anxiety to increase.
Once you have arrived at the dental office, try to distract yourself. You can do this by looking at a magazine, reading a book, playing a game or watching TV. Be sure to talk to your dentist about your concerns.
Make sure you don’t hold your breath while you’re receiving treatment. This can cause your oxygen levels to decrease which can make your anxiety level increase.
