We all know how to best care for our teeth, brush 2 minutes, 2 times a day. Floss. Use toothpaste with fluoride, etc., etc. However, we might not be as familiar with how best to care for our toothbrush. So let’s talk about that today.
When choosing a toothbrush, make sure you get a soft one. Medium and firm toothbrushes can damage your gums and enamel. Remember, only brush hard enough to get the film off your teeth, your toothpaste will do the rest.
The typical lifespan of a toothbrush is 3 to 4 months. If your bristles are frayed then replace sooner. A toothbrush that is worn won’t clean your teeth very good.
Be sure to leave your toothbrush out in the open. A moist environment such as a closed toothbrush container can cause unwanted bacteria to form. So remember, rinse your brush with tap water after each use and let it air dry each time.
We all enjoy sharing things, but refrain from being nice when it comes to your toothbrush. When you share your toothbrush you’re also sharing germs and bacteria.
