How should you care for your mouthguard?
There are 4 things you should do in caring for your mouthguard.
- After you use your mouthguard, brush it with a toothbrush and cool water. Be sure not to use hot water!
- When you’re not using your mouthguard, keep it in a well-ventilated plastic storage case. Your dentist should give you one when you get your mouthguard.
- Heat can melt your mouthguard. Make sure to never leave it directly in the sun or any place that it will get too hot, for example, a hot car.
- When you get your regular teeth cleaning, bring your mouthguard with you. They will give it a thorough cleaning and check to make sure of its ongoing integrity.
If you put these four tips to use, your mouthguard should last a long time.
